Warm and Cool Colours!

In this activity, the students sorted the squares of colourful construction paper with me so that we could review the concept of warm and cool colours. They were then given a blank image of the apple and the instructions seen to the left. The results were beautiful! This lesson will certainly help us as we progress through the arts curriculum.

Grade 2/3 Has "Perspective"!

We learned about horizon lines, and creating depth in our drawings. The results were outstanding!

bubbles, bubbles, bubbles!

Inspired by a wonderful and creative blog post by Tabitha Morgan* we learned about, thoughtfully observed, and created our very own bubbles! I showed photos and blew bubbles to show how soap bubbles reflect light and are full of colour! Then, we set to work and created our own using pastels and black construction paper.
